Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence and abstract reflecting a safe driving record
Physical and mental aptitude to work on a crew and learn new skills
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in general maintenance and construction work
Ability to perform semi-skilled construction and maintenance tasks
Ability to carry out oral and written instruction and exercise independent judgement

Job Responsibility

Perform manual outside work with physical effort in unskilled and semi-skilled public works construction and maintenance tasks
Operate various hand tools, electric, gasoline, hydraulic and pneumatic power tools including compressors, jackhammers, tampers, drills, weed eaters, brush cutters, and chainsaws
Act as swamper for equipment and trucks
Assist in construction, repair and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, ditches, roads and pavement
