Job Description

United Synagogue is seeking a Tribe Summer Camp Medic to oversee the health and wellbeing of all participants, leaders and staff throughout camp. You will provide first aid support, administer medication safely and ensure accurate medical documentation is maintained.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide first aid cover throughout the day and be on call at night when required
  • Administer prescribed and over‑the‑counter medication, ensuring accurate recording on the Tribe Camp online system
  • Maintain up‑to‑date medical records for participants and leaders
  • Liaise with the Head of Welfare to determine when external medical care (doctor/hospital visit) is needed and coordinate safe transfer
  • Identify welfare concerns linked to medical issues and escalate appropriately to senior staff
  • Attend pre‑camp training and report daily to the Head of Site and Head of Welfare
  • Support the wider welfare team to ensure participant wellbeing and smooth running of the camp

Requirements

  • First Aid qualification
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm in pressured situations
  • Excellent communication skills and clear record‑keeping
  • Ability to prioritise and manage sensitive issues professionally

Nice to have

  • Driver’s Licence
  • Mental Health First Aid qualification
  • Understanding of Orthodox Jewish customs and practices
