We are looking for an experienced Trial Paralegal to join a respected law firm in Irvine, California on a contract basis with the potential to become permanent. This permanent, onsite position supports attorneys handling complex litigation matters and plays a key role from the earliest stages of a case through trial and appeal. The ideal candidate brings strong litigation judgment, thrives in a fast-moving legal environment, and can manage competing deadlines with precision.
Job Responsibility
Oversee litigation matters throughout the full case lifecycle, including initial filings, trial preparation, and post-trial follow-up
Prepare and organize legal documents such as pleadings, written discovery, subpoenas, and attorney correspondence for filing and service
Maintain case calendars and monitor critical dates in accordance with California and Federal court rules
Coordinate discovery activities, manage document productions, and schedule depositions with internal and external parties
Assemble trial materials, including exhibit sets, witness files, binders, and supporting court documents
Provide hands-on assistance during trial proceedings and help complete necessary filings after hearings or verdicts
Support appellate matters by tracking deadlines, organizing records, and assisting with brief preparation and filing logistics
Use e-discovery platforms, case management systems, and trial presentation tools to support efficient litigation workflows
Requirements
At least 5 years of paralegal experience supporting complex civil litigation matters
Demonstrated background providing direct trial support
Solid understanding of California and Federal civil procedure, including filing requirements and deadline management
Proficiency with e-filing systems, litigation support applications, and document management software
Experience handling discovery coordination, trial preparation, and case organization in a deadline-driven environment
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely with attorneys and legal staff in an onsite setting
