This is a unique contract-to-hire opportunity. The initial contract period (up to 60 days) is designed as a high-level integration phase, where candidates will shadow attorneys to learn about the firm’s trial strategy, workflow, and case approach. Following successful completion of the contract period, candidates will immediately convert to a direct-hire employee of the firm and take an active role within the trial team.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and execute trial strategy, including serving as first or second chair as appropriate
Independently handle all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial
Take ownership of high-stakes motion practice, including dispositive motions and MILs
Appear in court regularly, arguing hearings and participating in trials statewide
Collaborate with internal teams on case strategy, risk assessment, and trial readiness
Mentor and guide junior attorneys and support staff as needed
Play a visible role in driving cases toward favorable resolutions, whether through trial or settlement
Requirements:
Active California Bar license and currently based in California
Proven experience leading or heavily supporting trials through verdict, including first- or second-chair roles
Strong command of litigation strategy, including law and motion, motions in limine, discovery disputes, and trial preparation
Ability to independently manage complex matters and drive cases forward with minimal oversight
Willingness to travel across California for hearings, depositions, and trial
