Job Description:

Are you the kind of trial lawyer who commands a courtroom, dismantles a trucking defense before the first recess, and thrives when the stakes are highest? A premier Houston-based plaintiff’s firm is seeking a first-chair trial attorney with deep experience in catastrophic injury and complex trucking litigation. This is not a stepping-stone role. This is for a battle-tested litigator ready to lead. If you know the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations better than the defense does — and can translate them into verdict-winning strategy — we want to talk.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead complex catastrophic injury and commercial trucking cases from intake through verdict
  • Serve as first-chair trial counsel, developing and executing litigation strategy
  • Take and defend expert depositions in high-exposure matters
  • Break down corporate structures and pursue layered liability theories
  • Navigate multi-million-dollar insurance towers and coverage disputes
  • Advocate for clients whose lives have been permanently altered

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
  • 3+ years of progressive experience taking personal injury cases to trial
  • Significant first-chair trial experience
  • Proven record trying catastrophic injury cases
  • Exceptional writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
  • Commanding jury presence and persuasive communication style
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling personal injury cases, including trial work
  • Proven success as first-chair trial counsel in catastrophic injury cases
  • Strong command of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and liability strategies
  • Exceptional legal writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage complex liability theories and insurance disputes with precision
  • Strategic thinker with a dedication to delivering meaningful verdicts
  • Skilled in handling discovery, depositions, and motions in high-exposure litigation
What we offer:
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • 50% vesting after 1 year
  • 100% vesting after 2 years
  • Access to financial wellness and retirement planning tools
  • 80 hours PTO in year one (available after 30 days)
  • 11 firm-observed holidays (including Juneteenth and Good Friday)
  • 3 days paid bereavement leave
  • Paid parental leave: Up to 6 weeks maternity leave (100% paid)
  • Up to 2 weeks paternity/bonding leave
  • Significant discretionary bonuses tied to attorney’s fees generated from resolved cases
