Tree Watering Operative  Location: Croydon & Surrounding Areas Contract: Full-Time, Fixed Term (May - September 2026) Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday Do you enjoy working outdoors and want to contribute to keeping Croydon green? As summer temperatures rise, our newly planted trees rely on us to help them thrive. We are seeking reliable and hardworking Tree Watering Operatives to join our seasonal team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and survival of young trees across the borough during the critical summer months. The Role: Key Responsibilities Hydration Management: Driving or navigating to specific sites to deliver precise amounts of water to young trees. Maintenance: Ensuring watering bags (Gator bags) are correctly positioned and filled. Health Checks: Identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or vandalism. Record Keeping: Using a simple mobile app to log completed waterings and track routes. Compliance: Correct use of a Thames Water Standpipe, requiring completion of 'Calm Water Training'. What We're Looking For: Skills & Experience Essential: A clean UK manual driving licence, with the ability to tow a bowser. Drivers wanted! Physically Fit: This is a manual role that requires handling heavy hoses and being on your feet in various weather conditions.
