Job Description

Ensure accurate accounting and reporting and management for key holding and investment legal entities in the Yum! structure, that are a pivotal part in Yum! tax and treasury activities. The role requires strong accounting technical skills and curiosity and interest about different accounting rules and GAAP in different jurisdictions and the ability to “roll up their sleeves to dig deep into data and systems. The role will require somebody who is a self-starter and able to work independently but also be able to co-ordinate their work with colleagues in multiple regions. This role offers experience at the heart of the tax/treasury/control function of a major Multinational Enterprise.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting and management for key holding and investment legal entities in the Yum! structure
  • Prepare and post period close US and local GAAP JDE manual journal entries for SIC entities
  • Maintain proper accounting records of all intercompany loan activity
  • Preparation of interest entries for Yum!’s notional pooling accounts for all entities
  • Perform intercompany elimination analysis for the entirety of international loan and notional pooling portfolio
  • Preparation/review of period account reconciliations
  • Perform analytics and provide balance sheet fluctuations for quarterly consolidation processes
  • Manage preparation of and assist in completion of SIC legal entities’ statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Manage audit process with local auditors for SIC legal entities
  • Support international teams in local statutory audits as required
  • Preparation/review of annual tax packages for submission to Yum! Tax Compliance team
  • Assist with preparation of annual country by country reporting requirements
  • Preparation of payments on behalf of SIC entities
  • Oversight of cash needs for SIC entities
  • Assist with preparation of cash repatriation transactions
  • Assist with calculation and preparation of local tax payments
  • Coordination with Tax and Control to ensure all entities are properly accounted for in special projects
  • Serve as an accounting liaison with markets around the world
  • Own compliance of Yum! Malta entities from end to end
  • Proactively identify and assist in implementing process changes
  • Assist with consolidated audit walkthroughs and testing of intercompany processes
  • Assist with additional special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong academic record in accounting modules
  • 2 - 4 years of financial reporting and/or public accounting experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player willing to assist other team members during tight deadlines or crisis situations
  • Customer service orientation with ability to effectively interact with culturally diverse international colleagues
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to establish priorities and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Analytical skills with ability to identify issues and propose solutions
  • Comfortable managing significant non-routine tasks related to projects.

Nice to have

  • Experience with international accounting and consolidations, treasury transactions and foreign currency issues a plus
  • SmartView, HFM, FDMEE and JD Edwards a plus but not essential.
