Job Description:

Allen Lane is currently seeking an experienced Interim Treasury Accountant to join their finance team on an initial 3 month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Local Government finance professional with strong expertise in Local Authority treasury management. You will play a key role in supporting the Council’s treasury function, ensuring effective cash management, compliance with regulations, and delivery of the Treasury Management Strategy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage daily cashflow forecasting, liquidity, and banking arrangements
  • Support treasury activities including investments, borrowing, and debt management
  • Ensure compliance with CIPFA Treasury Management Code and Local Authority regulations
  • Reconcile treasury transactions and maintain accurate financial records
  • Provide treasury reporting to senior management, Members, and committees
  • Support capital financing, MRP calculations, and year-end treasury disclosures
  • Liaise with external advisors, lenders, and auditors

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in Local Authority / Local Government treasury finance
  • Strong knowledge of CIPFA Treasury Management Code
  • Experience in cashflow management, investments, borrowing, and capital finance
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Available immediately or at short notice
