Job Description

A professional and experienced Travel Nanny (ideally Norland qualified/British trained) is sought to join a busy private family based in USA (San Francisco and Los Angeles) with frequent international travel. This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable and travel-ready nanny to care for two young children, a 4 year old girl and a 1 year old baby, in a household where the parents are hands on and closely involved in their children’s lives. The role involves both shared and sole charge responsibilities. The family divides their time between multiple residences, and the successful candidate should be comfortable with regular domestic and international travel.

Job Responsibility

  • Full daily care of two children – a toddler and a baby
  • Implementing and adapting daily routines and developmental activities
  • Supporting parents in a shared care arrangement, while taking initiative and being proactive in sole charge situations
  • A safety-focussed and attentive approach at all times
  • Communicating clearly with parents and respecting family boundaries
  • Proxy parenting when parents travel
  • Light nursery duties relating to the children (e.g., tidying toys, children’s laundry)
  • Flexibility to travel extensively with the family, both domestically and internationally
  • Occasional evening and weekend support, with time off in lieu
  • Dog-friendly – as the family have a pet dog

Requirements

  • Significant experience with similar aged children
  • A J1 Visa, US Passport or Green Card
  • Friendly, gentle, nurturing and warm demeanour
  • Strong communication skills and good emotional intelligence
  • Flexible, reliable, and discreet
  • Calm, confident and safety-conscious
  • Able to travel extensively
  • Driving not essential, but a driver with a clean licence is a bonus (car provided)
