Job Description

Histo Tech position in State College, PA. Assignment length: 13 Weeks. Shift: Day (5x8). Environment: Anatomic Pathology / Medical Laboratory. Charting: Meditech. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts. Holidays: Coverage required.

Job Responsibility

  • Tissue specimen identification, accessioning & processing
  • Assisting pathologist with gross examinations
  • Tissue embedding, microtomy, staining & slide preparation
  • Frozen section preparation
  • Special histochemical stains
  • Slide/block filing, storage & retrieval
  • Preparing specimens for outside consultation

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience required
  • Histotechnologist certification required (ASCP or equivalent)
  • Active state license required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Previous travel experience is not required
