Resmed Transportation Planners are responsible for international and domestic transportation planning to include transportation capacity planning, delivery order management, coordination of import and export requirements, and analyzing resources and ensuring materials are prepared for transport. This role may require performing distribution center/warehousing receiving transactions and planning of distribution internal movements. In this role you will support the development & maintenance master schedules, pertaining to transport and cost effectiveness. Identifying transport planning opportunities to improve transportation service levels.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, schedule and coordinate shipments from suppliers to Resmed manufacturing sites and from Resmed manufacturing sites to regional distribution centers
Optimizing and supporting sailing schedule maintenance and execution
Coordinate and collaborate internally and externally in the coordination and planning of Resmed managed transportation
Identify and aid in the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities
Works independently, likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
Knowledgeable and current on industry trends and developments, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance transportation operations
Assign orders to sailings to maximize capacity
Conduct consolidation and optimization of orders into shipments
Monitor key metrics such as transit time, utilization, and on-time delivery
Work cross-functionally with planning, warehousing, procurement, and customer service to align logistics operations
Use TMS, BI platforms, and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Alteryx) for performance analysis, visibility and reporting
Support the implementation of new logistics tools and system enhancements (TMS, network design software, etc.)
Partner with freight forwarders, 3PLs, and carriers to improve performance and transparency
Support RFP processes, carrier evaluations, and continuous improvement plans
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
Transportation and Freight Operations Experience
Knowledgeable of international transportation requirements and INCOTERM
Nice to have:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
3–5 years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience, with direct involvement in network design or freight optimization
Experience with international freight, customs, or Incoterms
Exposure to sustainability initiatives or green logistics programs
Proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools, and transportation management systems (TMS)
Experience with routing software or network modeling tools (e.g., Llamasoft, Coupa, Oracle GTM, SAP TM, etc.)
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable data and solutions
experience with managing cross-functional working teams and complex global logistics network initiatives
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and mission-critical environment
