Job Description

For our client, an international company based in Baden, we are looking for a motivated, results-oriented, and highly skilled Transportation Operations Senior Professional (m/f/d).

Job Responsibility

  • Organise, monitor, and manage worldwide shipments across all transport modes, including air freight, ocean freight, road transport, and courier services
  • Book, prepare, plan, and supervise critical material shipments from origin to destination, ensuring the most appropriate and cost-effective methods are selected
  • Handle and process complex shipping documentation, including legalisations, Letters of Credit (Akkreditiv), ATA Carnets, and insurance certificates
  • Generate export/shipping documents using ERP systems
  • Review transport quotes, audit freight invoices, and closely monitor service fees to identify process and cost-optimization opportunities
  • Serve as a core liaison and manage communication with internal and external stakeholders across Supply Chain Management (SCM), Planning, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Finance, and external logistics providers
  • Lead transportation projects and processes independently with minimal supervision
  • Establish emergency backup plans for critical shipments and solve complex logistics challenges
  • Act as an advanced job area expert, coaching and reviewing the work of junior logistics professionals within the team

Requirements

  • Completed commercial education (Kaufmännische Ausbildung) at minimum
  • Advanced degrees or further certifications in Transport, Trade, or Logistics are highly advantageous
  • Several years of proven professional experience in a comparable senior transportation or logistics role (equivalent to a P3 Senior Professional level)
  • Deep, advanced knowledge of the logistics industry, freight forwarding, export control regulations, and rules of origin
  • Proficient handling of SAP TMS & GTS, and MS Office (specifically Excel and SharePoint)
  • Solid foundational understanding of modern digital logistics competencies (API, EDI, AI applications)
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, high initiative, and a results-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision to resolve difficult logistics issues
  • Fluent German is mandatory
  • English (minimum B2 level) is required for daily business
  • Knowledge of French and/or Italian is a distinct advantage
