Job Description

As a Transportation Manager, you will provide service to internal and external customers, as well as manage and contain costs while effectively managing the driver and dispatching staff.

Job Responsibility

  • Contain costs through effective routing of customer orders and managing inbound freight by dispatching staff
  • Utilize team and equipment in a cost-effective manner
  • Manage transfer processes between distribution centers by working closely with distribution center managers
  • Address and resolve customer issues
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Dot experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft office programs

Nice to have

  • Prior management experience of 3-5 years minimum
  • Prior transportation experience
  • Ability to function in a multi-task environment
