Sensei Lāna’i, A Four Seasons Resort, is looking for a Transportation Driver who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams’ have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the island of Lana’i, both Four Season Resorts, and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Job Responsibility:
Greet all guests with a smile, make eye contact, and speak clearly in a friendly manner while upholding the highest level of hospitality and professionalism
Provide seamless and intuitive transportation by picking up guests at designated locations on Lana’i for both resorts
Assist with luggage, able to lift, load, and offload onto carts and vehicles
Maintain the general cleanliness of assigned transportation vehicles
Provide a safe and comfortable ride for hotel guests
ensure the vehicle is in good repair and stocked with amenities
Act as a guest liaison when not in transit by opening hotel and vehicle doors, engaging in conversation, offering suggestions, directions, and other information
Maintain appropriate logs noting guests transported and transportation details
Possess strong knowledge of city streets to ensure timely guest transportation
Inspect the vehicle daily, ensure scheduled maintenance is completed, and report any operating difficulties
During transport, initiate “Talk Story” with guests, sharing historical tours, activity information, and stories of the island
Assist and perform errands for guests and the hotel
Provide guests with directions, recommendations, and information about the city, surrounding areas, and attractions
Hail taxis as needed and load luggage for departing guests
Accommodate special requests whenever possible
resolve guest complaints and assist with inquiries regarding hotel services
Perform all other duties as assigned, including administrative tasks and other responsibilities as directed by management or supervisors
Support and collaborate with other departments, integrating various tasks as assigned based on business needs
Take action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction, and well-being of hotel guests and employees when senior managers are unavailable
Respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency or safety situation
Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in The Employee Handbook
Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond promptly to guest concerns and requests
Complete both AM and PM driver inspection reports to ensure vehicles remain safe and operable throughout shifts
Maintain the cleanliness of assigned vehicles during downtime by cleaning interiors and exteriors, vacuuming, removing trash, wiping surfaces, and washing as needed
Support additional driving tasks as directed by management, including special events, private group transfers, and shuttle services outside regular routes
Provide full luggage assistance, escort guests inside the main terminal, assist through the Lana‘i Air check-in process or other designated airline procedures, and ensure a smooth, professional departure experience
Assist with transporting non-hotel guests as directed by management, maintaining professionalism and service standards at all times
Adhere to radio communication protocols and use designated verbiage set by management, remaining respectful, professional, and responsive throughout scheduled shifts
Be open to working flexible AM and PM shifts based on flight itineraries, which may require starting earlier or ending later than originally scheduled
Adhere to all traffic rules and regulations, adopting a defensive driving approach and implementing necessary safety precautions in the absence of posted limits or rules
Observe traffic rules and state regulations, wearing seat belts at all times and encouraging passengers to do the same
Abstain from consuming alcohol at least 10 hours prior to the start of a shift
Refrain from using personal handheld mobile devices while driving, except when using an approved hands-free system as required by management
Always carry the company’s radio and Bluetooth earpiece throughout the shift for internal communications
Requirements:
Must possess legal work authorization in United States
Must have a valid U.S driver's license and must require to obtain a Hawaii Driver’s License within 90 days of employment
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 200lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
Weekend and Holiday availability required
Drivers must be open to working flexible AM and PM shifts based on flight itineraries
