The Transportation Clerk's position is responsible for the timely processing of all paperwork relating to product entering and leaving the Warehouse/Distribution Center area; assist in determining methods of transportation, delivery issues and expediting lead times. This position is also responsible for assisting in maintaining an organized warehouse.
Job Responsibility
Responsible for accurate, timely, and neat completion of paperwork
Responsible for accurate and timely billing and filing of all outbound documents
Responsible for entering and filing all inbound documents, to include documents relating to overseas receipts
Associate will enter data into spreadsheets, and develop charts from such data to track the progress of the department
Will assist the department Manager in contacting carriers and setting up pick-ups of outbound freight
Responsible for creating Tours in K-soft system for all outbound shipments
Responsible for cycle counting to insure warehouse inventory integrity
Inspect lift truck, and turn in Inspection sheet to supervisor in a timely manner
operate lift truck as needed
Responsible for daily housekeeping in the shipping office and surrounding areas
Assist other associates when needed
May be responsible for department operations during Logistic Manager's absence
Assists department manager in training of new associates, and cross training of all department members
Requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work closely with others in a small team environment
Perfect or near perfect attendance record
Ability to operate a scissor lift or man lift for the purpose of cleaning windows, ceilings, and walls of the warehouse
Experience as a shipping / receiving clerk
Intermediate to excellent computer operating skills including word and excel
