Job Description:

Transport Supervisor role at Greencore's Southampton distribution depot, which serves convenience retailers and forecourts in the region and operates a fleet of 35 vehicles on 36 routes. Working any 5 from 7 days (10:30 - 19:00) with flexibility, currently not including Sundays.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide leadership of a shift ensuring consistent application of department standards and processes
  • Ensure competently trained resources are allocated to work activities with safe equipment
  • Investigate and communicate issues affecting the safe and legal achievement of the budgeted operational plan
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure people are supported in their roles
  • Ensure administrative procedures and operational information is accurate and available for reporting
  • Conduct operational inductions and training as required
  • Communicate opportunities for improvements where trends and deficiencies are evident
  • Execute process to ensure drivers are safe and legally entitled to drive nominated vehicles
  • Participate in risk assessment, accident investigation, operational inspections and behavioral monitoring
  • Execute permit to work controller responsibilities and assist with scheduling and planning of maintenance activities for the vehicle fleet
