Here at Langdons, we have an amazing opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join the team based in Bridgwater (Showground Road) You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, working Wednesday to Friday 07:00-19:00 and Saturday 07:00-18:00 and in return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of £40,256.46 per annum. The Transport Supervisor role: This is a fantastic role to really get your teeth into! Oversee the daily planning and routing of depot vehicles and staff, ensuring all relevant resources are deployed where required About us: Wether it's fresh consignments or frozen goods, we have it covered! Langdons can deliver to almost any location in the UK or Ireland within 24 hours. We have 9 depots and over 375 lorries carrying chilled and frozen food all over the country. We're the only company providing a 24-hour service of this kind, and we are very good at it. Job Responsibility:
Assist team with building loads and planning routes efficiently and effectively, taking into account traffic conditions and driver restrictions and requirements
Coach and support others to work in line with company procedures and identify where further development needs arise, taking appropriate action in consultation with management where necessary to ensure required standards are consistently met
Ensure all planning decisions are communicated with relevant parties and update them in good time when any circumstances change
Guide and support others to interpret planning decisions and ensure regular reviews of plans are undertaken
Communicate with relevant colleagues and customers where necessary to resolve unforeseen difficulties that may arise including damaged goods and incomplete consignments
Work closely with workshop colleagues to ensure resource requirements and service schedules are met
Deputise where required and in partnership with management ensures appropriate cover for all teams is available and any issues are resolved on a timely basis and in accordance with company procedures
Promote company values and code of conduct in all that you do and to others you come into contact with
Adhere to company rules, policies, procedures consistently and encourage others to do the same
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation impacting on your role where required
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and ensure that confidentiality is applied where appropriate
Be flexible where required in accordance with the needs of the business
Requirements:
IT literate in Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
Proven experience in a customer-facing facing role
Experience of leading a team &/or be working towards a Level 3 Management or equivalent qualification
A Level's desired
CPC desired
Ability to support, motivate and coach staff to maximise individual and team performance
Ability to use initiative and maximise resources to source effective solutions
Ability to work to fluid targets and deadlines
Proven verbal and written communication & arithmetic skills
