Job Description:

We’re looking for an organised, adaptable Transport Planner / Night Trunk Co-ordinator to join our Ambergate transport team. You’ll play a key part in keeping our rigid fleet and network running smoothly — planning vehicle routes, supporting night operations and making sure everything gets where it needs to be, on time. Whether you already have some logistics experience or you’re ready to take the next step in your career, we’ll give you the support and training to grow into the role and make it your own.

Job Responsibility:

  • Help plan and allocate daily vehicle routes across our rigid fleet and Palletline network
  • Monitor deliveries and collections, adjusting plans as needed to keep operations on track
  • Work closely with drivers, customer service and warehouse teams to solve issues quickly
  • Coordinate night trunking activity, ensuring vehicles leave on schedule and arrive on time
  • Communicate clearly between departments and provide accurate end-of-shift handovers
  • Keep systems up to date and help spot ways to improve efficiency across the operation

Requirements:

  • Some experience in logistics, transport, or operations — or a genuine interest in learning
  • Excellent communicator who enjoys teamwork and problem-solving
  • Calm under pressure and confident making quick decisions
  • Comfortable using IT systems (we’ll train you on our Transport Management System)
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and eager to develop your skills
What we offer:
  • Monday to Friday working pattern (14:00–22:30)
  • Supportive, family-run business with strong values and a friendly team
  • Hands-on learning and mentoring from experienced transport professionals
  • Clear opportunities to grow your career in transport planning and logistics
  • A varied, fast-paced role where your input really makes a difference
