Job Description

As Transport Director in Lummen, you will combine strategic leadership with operational excellence within a dynamic, international setting. Leading a driven team of transport experts, you will oversee approximately 1,200 transport movements per month, continuously driving process optimization and digital innovation. Leveraging your deep expertise in waste legislation and transport flows, you will act as the key architect of an efficient, high-quality, and future-proof logistical service.

Job Responsibility

  • Coach and inspire a team of three transport professionals
  • Actively participate in daily transport planning across road and water
  • Conduct sharp rate negotiations for existing and new routes
  • Meticulously monitor transport budgets and KPIs
  • Serve as the primary internal contact for complex waste legislation
  • Drive innovation by digitalizing and automating transport processes
  • Build sustainable relationships with external partners and internal departments
  • Analyze market insights and proactively share them with the team

Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in an international transport environment
  • Authority on road and water transport
  • Knowledge of applicable waste disposal legislation
  • Natural leader who knows how to motivate people
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Excellent command of French
  • Result-driven
  • Thinks out-of-the-box
  • Remains calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
