Job Responsibility

  • Driver Scheduling: Allocate drivers for daily collections and deliveries across the UK
  • Airport Operations: Manage drivers for inbound flight recoveries and outbound tenders
  • Amalgamation Arrangements: optimise collections based on pick-up windows and delivery deadlines
  • Monitoring & Communication: Liaise with drivers and subcontractors to ensure schedules are met
  • Documentation: Print essential collection and delivery paperwork
  • Milestone Tracking: Communicate with drivers to gather and input key milestone data
  • Inbox Management: Handle new transport bookings and internal queries
  • Discipline Maintenance: Uphold standards among drivers regarding punctuality, appearance, and vehicle upkeep
  • Reporting: Keep the management team informed of any issues as they arise
  • Shift Handover: Provide detailed reports for the next shift

Requirements

  • Experience in specialist courier operations (Life Sciences/AOG)
  • Strong knowledge of UK road networks and strict deadline management
  • Comprehensive understanding of courier/freight operations, including import/export and transport
  • Familiarity with transit milestones (e.g., POD, OFD)
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent teamwork and self-motivation
  • Strong numerical and financial acumen
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage time effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and management skills
  • Flexibility and initiative in a fast-paced environment
