Recognizes changes in clinical situations, evaluates, and implement changes to the Standard Operating Procedures and contributes to the design and collection of data for required transplant reporting
Facilitates monthly BMT Quality meetings, analyzing and managing all the required data to be reported at the meeting
Participates in quality management activities to improve the quality of the bone marrow transplant program, following Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT)
Actively participates in the quality improvement and quality management program activities including FDA, FACT, NMDP, CIBMTR
Participates in preparations for accreditations not limited to Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR), National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Be the Match, Illinois Department of Public Aid, and various insurance groups
Works with hospital's legal and risk management departments as needed to ensure patient safety and accurate reports of transplant events and the development of program forms, SOPs and consents used for treatment
Participates in abstracting internal and external data used to develop departmental flow sheets and information graphs for educational presentations and required regulatory documentation
Participate in Standard Operating Procedures management
Uses current evidence to analyze data and develop recommendations and strategies to address complex issues and identify opportunities for improvement
Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and effective communication skills to engage in collaborative relationships and involve stakeholders and other members of the team
Provides comprehensive support to transplant patients to assist in navigating the delivery of optimum and safe patient care
Communicate with patients and families providing clinical support and expertise to guide through the healthcare experience
Oversees and participates in the systematic and purposeful collection of data, information, and knowledge to facilitate comprehensive assessment of projects and identify opportunities for improved program outcomes
Utilizing clinical expertise participates in chart abstraction for various clinical outcome measures and databases in accordance with established data definitions and programs
Uses current clinical knowledge and expertise to assist with reports of team activity by using appropriate visual tools to display outcomes
Identifies and uses appropriate clinically relevant sources of evidence for projects assigned
Serves as an expert resource to team in analyzing and interpreting data based on clinical expertise and current evidence based literature identifying patterns, trends, opportunities for improvement and highlighting best practices found
Contributes to an environment that fosters continuous quality improvement and the pursuit of excellence
Partners with team members to share knowledge and skills related to quality and patient safety
Appropriately utilizes various quality methods based on project (ie CAP, LEAN, 6th Sigma, etc)

Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or other healthcare related bachelors degree
2-3 years of clinical practice quality management in a hospital setting or health related setting (Oncology/BMT preferred)
Knowledge in quality improvement activities and use of current evidence based practice
Experience in the use of quality management software
Proficient in statistical application and performance analysis
Proficient in spreadsheet, word processing, database, and graphic software
Proficient in evidence based practice, critical thinking, statistical knowledge, analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of healthcare individuals and teams
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to work with diverse teams and individuals
RN/ CPHQ or other healthcare certification
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints
