Job Description

As a Transmission R&R technician you will be called upon to service a broad range of vehicle repair issues and for quickly identifying the cause of performance problems.

Job Responsibility

  • Remove and Replace Transmissions
  • Assist other technicians in performing technical activities
  • Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection to service writers and technicians
  • Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools and repair techniques
  • Professionally record findings so that repairs costs are accurately estimated

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience working as an R&R Technician
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Own professional grade tools to service any general repair need
  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment

  • Basic Electricity & Electronics theory and applications with emphasis in telecommunications and network troubleshooting and repair
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and repair
  • Must have a soldering certificate or equivalent training from a commercial firm, technical school or Navy school
  • Must be familiar with OSI 7 Layer model

  • Responds to evolving operational environments requirements when directed
  • Perform periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures and/or OEM guidelines

  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of systems/equipment by reading and interpreting electronic/mechanical schematics and using simple and complex tools and test equipment
  • Install, check-out, and or bench test, calibrate and perform acceptance tests on new and relocated systems and equipment, as directed
  • Perform Communications Security (COMSEC) functions including accounting, loading, and destruction and courier services for classified cryptographic materials and items
