Position Purpose: The TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION INTERN role within the organization will take on capital blanket work from initiation to completion during the extent of their time. The T&D Intern will work under the direction of the Supervisor of T&D to perform field inspections, with Veolia and contractor crews, perform updates to Standard Operating Procedures, and work in conjunction with planning to revise T&D work schedules. The T&D intern will also work in conjunction with GIS, assisting in the improvement of mapping systems from in-field changes. Internships at Veolia: Gain hands-on experience in at least one career function from Corporate, Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain or Technology.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the creation of weekly and daily job plans for the T&D and Production Departments
Review and adjust plans daily
Daily discuss activities and backlog with supervisors and the engineering department
Develop, continuously improve, and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in the Systems Office
Maintain and modify Planning SOPs
Indirectly supervise administrative functions performed by administrative support related with work planning
Responsible for being on emergency call and to respond to emergency T&D operations
Perform other duties as required by management & supervision
Comply with all Veolia Company and HSE procedures and policies
Review daily and weekly schedules for Contractor work to be performed
Participate in weekly Contractor calls with management
Visit Contractor Job Sites on an as-needed-basis and record all required Veolia & Veolia-contractor job data / checklists
Read, understand, and enforce all Contract terms with Construction Vendors.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED is required
Working towards a four-year degree and you have Senior status in a related engineering, environmental science or construction management major
3.2 Cumulative G.P.A required
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
