As a Transit Operator driving our smaller community shuttle buses, you’re not just behind the wheel, you’re part of the heartbeat of the town. Job Responsibility:

  • Safely transport passengers between cities
  • Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids (if needed)
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Operate a two-way radio and manage fares accurately
  • Maintain a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone
  • Report any incidents, vehicle defects, or passenger safety concerns
  • Fuel, wash, and check fluid levels of the vehicle
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as required by Provincial legislation and record any minor vehicle defects onto the vehicle daily

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License – minimum of Class 4
  • Ability to pass a required enhanced criminal record check, and drug & alcohol test
  • Provide a clean commercial driver’s abstract
  • Ability to work independently and interact politely with the public and staff
  • Physically able to perform all job duties
  • Exceptional customer service skills
