As a Transformer Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end assembly of industrial transformers within our manufacturing and logistics division. Job Responsibility:
Build transformers according to Manufacturing Documents, including specifications, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM)
Verify that the revision levels on the job package match the current production requirements
Set up workstations and prepare necessary tools and materials before starting the assembly process
Record material traceability and monitor shelf-life for sensitive materials like glue, tape, epoxy, and solvents
Install insulating barriers (Nomex, tape, copper) and fit brackets or mounting hardware such as washers and screws
Perform encapsulation of parts using epoxy or other specialized chemical sealants
Make electrical connections using precision soldering, brazing, or crimping techniques
Verify the gauge of steel used in assembly to ensure structural integrity
Conduct quality control inspections to detect, prevent, and repair defective parts
Use a variety of hand and air tools, including hammers, drills, calipers, and crimpers
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with health and safety protocols
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
however, basic English and math skills are essential
Previous experience in transformer assembly or electrical component assembly is a strong asset
Physical ability to stand or sit for an entire shift and perform repetitive twisting or pinching motions
Ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs (spools of magnet wire or finished parts)
Must provide and wear CSA Approved Footwear at all times on the shop floor
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot and humid summer months)
Proven track record of reliability and a positive, team-oriented attitude
