Are you a senior Change Leader who thrives at the intersection of organisational maturity, large scale assets and complex corporate transformation? I am currently partnering with a key government utility client with an exciting contract opportunity for a Transformation Change Director. This is a critical senior leadership role within the organisation's Growth Transformation Group, based in Adelaide. About the Opportunity In this role, you will be accountable for developing, orchestrating, and leading the integrated change strategy required to successfully embed and sustain new operating models, redesigned processes, and upgraded capabilities. Operating at the executive interface, you will navigate a high volume of change over the upcoming months. You will not just manage an existing function, but actively build, baseline, and drive the change team forward. While there are digital elements to the broader program, this specific focus requires a highly practical, people-first leader who can engage effortlessly with General Managers and executive stakeholders while building genuine trust with frontline operational and blue-collar utility teams.
Job Responsibility
Develop and execute a practical, sequenced transformation change strategy that reflects the full scope of operating model changes, process redesigns, and structural shifts
Provide clear, inspiring leadership to direct reports (including Transformation Readiness Leads and the Communications Lead) while actively building out the change function's framework
Manage a complex web of internal staff and external partners, maintaining an integrated view of the cumulative change load and capacity risks across the group
Establish a robust change governance framework, business readiness criteria, and clear adoption metrics to provide real-time visibility to executive leadership
Foster a high-performance, collaborative environment that remains highly adaptable, creative, and resilient through shifting timelines and heavy change volumes
Requirements
Proven experience operating at a GM or Executive level within large, complex organisations of a similar size (either commercial corporate or the public sector)
A background or familiarity with heavy industry environments such as utilities, water, mining, oil & gas, major engineering infrastructure, or tier-1 corporate consultancies
A track record as a down-to-earth, practical thinker who prioritises people-centered change outcomes over purely theoretical frameworks
Extensive demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale organizational restructures, capability uplifts, or process redesigns
Tertiary qualification in Organisational Change, Business, HR, Communications, or a related discipline, with change management accreditation highly regarded
