Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Transaction Tax Accountant to support our tax compliance, reporting, and research activities across multiple states and local jurisdictions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all transaction tax filings, including Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax, and supports broader income and franchise tax initiatives as needed. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and committed to continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare Annual Reports and manage business license filings across states and localities
  • Maintain a comprehensive transaction tax calendar to ensure timely compliance with all filing deadlines
  • Manage all aspects of Property Tax compliance, including return preparation, valuation assessment reviews, and filing protests when necessary
  • Prepare and file Property Tax Returns and support related reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for all transaction tax accounts, including Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile monthly data requests and returns for Sales & Use Tax prior to submission to third-party preparers
  • Prepare tax payment requests for all transaction taxes, ensuring proper account coding
  • Annually prepare budgets related to transaction tax obligations
  • Respond to tax authority inquiries related to transaction taxes
  • Assist with IDR responses during transaction tax audits
  • Conduct tax research on emerging issues as they arise
  • Assist in preparing income and franchise tax workpapers when needed
  • Support the Tax Manager and CFO with additional projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Experience working with transaction taxes, including Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax
  • Working knowledge of Income and Franchise Tax is a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • excellent accounting skills are essential
  • Experience conducting tax research related to return preparation
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional customer service
  • Experience with Vertex, Oracle, or OneSource tax software is a plus
