We are seeking an organised and proactive Training Programme Support Officer to join the LGPS Training and Development team within the pensions service. This role provides vital administrative and operational support to the delivery of a national training and qualification programme for Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) administering authorities and employers.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of training events, qualifications and conferences
Organising event logistics, liaising with venues and speakers, preparing materials, managing delegate communications and providing on-the-day support
Support the administration of LGPS pension qualifications, assisting with tutorials and exams, monitoring learner progress and working with qualification providers
Manage training enquiries, coordinate feedback and certification
Support financial processes such as purchase orders, invoices and budget monitoring
Requirements:
Experience of using Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, together with effective use of email, internet resources, collaborative platforms and digital planning and task‑management tools
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines, and a concern for order and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to accurately summarise and convey complex information
Experience of managing a complex workload, preparing plans and meeting deadlines and milestones
Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with members, other clients and colleagues with courtesy, tact and sensitivity
Flexible approach to work, with a keenness to adapt to meet changing work requirements
