The Training Instructor will deliver industrial fire safety and hot works training for our client within the Nuclear industry. The role focuses on practical, scenario-based delivery covering fire prevention, fire watcher duties, and emergency response, ensuring learners achieve competence in line with industry standards. Using structured approaches such as SAT, the instructor will support engaging training, maintain accurate records, and contribute to continuous improvement of course materials. Working in a site-based, safety-critical environment, the role also involves collaboration with stakeholders and promoting a strong safety culture across all training activities.
Job Responsibility
Deliver fire safety and hot works training, including fire watcher and emergency response procedures
Facilitate practical, scenario-based learning sessions and assessments
Apply structured training methods (e.g. SAT) to ensure effective learning outcomes
Support learners in developing competence, confidence, and safe working practices
Act as course coordinator for fire safety training programmes where required
Maintain and update training materials to ensure accuracy and compliance
Keep accurate training records and provide learner feedback and progress reports
Ensure all training aligns with relevant industry standards and frameworks (e.g. ECITB where applicable)
Promote and embed a strong safety culture across all training delivery
Liaise with stakeholders, SMEs, and project teams to support training needs and improvements
Support delivery of additional safety-related training courses as required
Contribute to continuous improvement of training content and delivery methods
Requirements
Demonstrable experience in fire safety, hot works, or industrial fire risk environments (essential)
Background in operational, industrial, construction, or other safety-critical environments
Proven experience delivering fire safety, compliance, or vocational training (desirable)
Recognised teaching/training qualification (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent)
Strong understanding of fire prevention, control measures, and emergency response procedures
Experience working with structured training methods such as SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) (desirable)
Familiarity with ECITB or similar industry accreditation frameworks (desirable)
Additional fire safety or health & safety qualifications (e.g. fire risk assessment, industrial safety certifications)
Strong communication, facilitation, and learner engagement skills
