Working in collaboration with the Executive Director for IDS and under the supervision of the Training and Performance Manager and in accordance with established professional and departmental standards, methods, models, plans, designs, implements, and evaluates aspects of IDS activities. The Training and Performance Specialist for Patient Centered Simulation (PCS) will work closely with Clinical Service Partners (CSP) to design and deliver direct simulation, as well as offer support to CSP educators across the Hospital more broadly for ongoing skills development and quality assurance of courses in our Patient Centered Simulation Program. Provides support for creation of new PCS curricula and programming, recurring PCS activities, and PCS Program faculty development programs as required.
Job Responsibility:
Works as part of IDS’ Training and Performance team to design, develop and deliver simulation activities to meet a broad range of clinical service needs.
Develops and maintains supportive relationships with clinical service partners (CSP), patients and families, and IDS Simulation Operations Specialists within the PCS program to enhance the development of simulation activities and quality assurance mechanisms
Monitors program effectiveness, reviewing associated evaluations, modifying or adapting programs as needed to ensure PCS Program offerings are performed according to established standards, guidelines, and instruction.
Identifies appropriate applications of simulation technology consistent with specific and/or special needs of PCS activities.
Working with Managerial supervision, supporting the coordination and delivery of recurring PCS programs, and supporting Faculty Development offerings as required
Develops and maintains advancing knowledge of current Simulation trends, practices, and techniques through participation in professional organizations, attendance at conferences, seminars, and other continuing education programs.
Serves as a member of the IDS and interdisciplinary team. Communicates issues as they arise to the Training and Performance Manager, Sr Director and Executive Director of IDS. Promotes an environment that fosters professional growth and collegiality.
Requirements:
Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs.
Well-developed writing skills. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution, to effectively work as a team member.
Ability to work some evenings and/or weekends as well as occasional travel to present at conferences or meetings.
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Five or more years of professional experience related in healthcare education, healthcare, clinical care, or child life
