The Training and Operational Resilience Manager is a senior operational leadership role responsible for ensuring the continuous effectiveness, readiness, and professionalism of the security operation across the VE estate. Acting as the principal training authority for the VE Security Operations Centre (SOC), this role blends hands‑on operational leadership, structured training delivery, and incident support to maintain a resilient, high‑performing security service across a complex and high‑risk environment.
Job Responsibility:
Lead contract‑wide training, operational readiness, and resilience, acting as the senior authority for all training and SOC capability
Provide direct operational support to site teams and the VE SOC, ensuring continuous readiness, service continuity, and effective emergency response
Design, deliver, and continuously improve structured training programmes for frontline officers, Team Leaders, SOC Leads, SOC Response Officers, and management teams
Act as the primary training lead for SOC operations, embedding best practice in alarm response, escalation, incident command, and reporting
Provide hands‑on leadership during incidents, supporting decision making, escalation management, and incident resolution from activation to closure
Maintain strong on‑site operational credibility, stepping into Site Lead, Site Manager, or Security Operations Lead roles when required
Produce training, operational resilience, and SOC performance reports, ensuring alignment with Client Guarding Standards, contractual obligations, and internal procedures
Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and operational practices, promoting a culture of ownership, professionalism, and service excellence
Requirements:
To hold a current DS SIA Licence
Extensive senior security operations experience within regulated or high‑risk environments, with strong understanding of multi‑site and SOC‑led operations
Proven capability in designing, delivering, and embedding operational and SOC‑specific training, including scenario‑based and incident‑focused programmes
Strong knowledge of SOC operations, alarm response workflows, monitoring platforms (e.g., CCure, Genetec), and incident logging practices
Demonstrable incident leadership experience, with the ability to coordinate resources, manage emergencies, and maintain control under pressure
Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, mentor operational teams, and build trusted client relationships
High competence in access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, and incident management systems, with analytical ability to interpret alarm and incident data
Relevant security industry qualifications or willingness to obtain (e.g., Level 3 AET, IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid at Work)
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and professional representation skills, with the ability to support investigations, debriefs, and performance management
