Job Description:

Reporting to the Training Supervisor Processing, the purpose of this roleis responsible for delivering best-in-class training, assessment, and Verification of Competency (VOC) programs to the Processing team, Fixed Plant Maintenance, and other site departments as required. This role ensures a consistent, high-standard training system across the site, develops safe work practices and supports supervisors in building operator and maintainer capability. The position plays a critical role in driving safety, production efficiency, and continuous improvement while championing the Pilbara Purpose.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and review training matrices for Processing, Fixed Plant Maintenance, and other departments, identifying internal and external training needs
  • Provide monthly training/VOC reports and recommendations to supervisors
  • Develop, maintain, and update all site-specific training documentation, assessments, and Safe Work Practices (SWPs) using SME input and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA)
  • Coach and support Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver practical field training
  • Monitor individual progress, provide constructive feedback, and make recommendations for competency completion
  • Deliver Permit to Work and isolation training
  • act as an authorised isolator to support planned and unplanned shutdowns and minimise production delays
  • Design isolation plans and prepare compliant work permits specific to the scope of work
  • Assist with incident investigations, providing technical expertise and actionable recommendations
  • Identify minor plant variations
  • escalate major issues to the Shift Supervisor
  • Provide timely feedback to Metallurgists, Supervision, and Maintenance on plant performance and improvement opportunities
  • Support Fixed Plant Maintenance and other departments with targeted training, VOCs, and isolation coordination as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum WA Manual HR class driver's licence

  • Significant experience in operating fixed plant or equipment in the mining industry
  • Previous training experience
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID and engineering drawings to create isolation plans
  • Physical fitness to meet role demands, including emergency response
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong computer literacy
  • Proven teamwork, initiative, and proactive safety focus
