This exciting opportunity will see the Functional Skills Trainer Assessor play a key role in supporting learners to develop essential English, maths, and digital skills that are critical for both life and work. Working as part of a dedicated EPNE Training team, you’ll deliver high-quality teaching and assessment as part of a wider project focused on improving employability and progression opportunities for learners across the region.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging Functional Skills sessions in English, maths, and/or digital skills to meet diverse learner needs
Support learners through their individual learning journeys, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help them achieve their goals
Conduct regular assessments and track learner progress in line with awarding body and EPNE quality standards
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports to ensure compliance with funding and quality assurance requirements
Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and partners to deliver an outstanding and cohesive learning experience
Engage in continuous professional development, embracing new teaching methods and digital tools to enhance delivery and learner outcomes
Requirements:
Minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and maths
Recognised Assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA, A1, or D32/33)
Experience delivering and assessing Functional Skills in English, maths, and/or ICT
Proven competence in using digital learning and assessment platforms
Proven experience delivering and assessing Functional Skills in English, maths, and/or digital skills
Strong understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs
Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate learners
Ability to plan, organise, and manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and quality standards
Competence in using digital learning tools, virtual learning environments, and e-portfolio systems
Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching, assessment, and learner support
