Job Description

As a Trainee Tutor, you will receive comprehensive training to deliver structured 1:1 teaching sessions and support pupils throughout their school day. Working alongside experienced Class Leaders, Teachers, and therapists, you will help implement individual learning programmes, behaviour support strategies, and life-skills development while gaining valuable experience within specialist autism education

Job Responsibility

  • Deliver individualised teaching sessions to assigned pupils
  • Support children with autism and communication needs using behaviour-based teaching approaches
  • Collect, monitor, and record pupil progress data
  • Assist with sensory learning, life skills, and extracurricular activities
  • Support pupils during lunch, playtimes, and outdoor learning activities
  • Work towards keyworker responsibilities for individual pupils
  • Contribute to the preparation and organisation of teaching resources
  • Support positive behaviour plans and teaching strategies
  • Assist with personal care where required, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene support
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider school staff
  • Contribute to home-school communication and pupil progress reporting
