As a Trainee Tutor, you will receive comprehensive training to deliver structured 1:1 teaching sessions and support pupils throughout their school day. Working alongside experienced Class Leaders, Teachers, and therapists, you will help implement individual learning programmes, behaviour support strategies, and life-skills development while gaining valuable experience within specialist autism education
Job Responsibility
Deliver individualised teaching sessions to assigned pupils
Support children with autism and communication needs using behaviour-based teaching approaches
Collect, monitor, and record pupil progress data
Assist with sensory learning, life skills, and extracurricular activities
Support pupils during lunch, playtimes, and outdoor learning activities
Work towards keyworker responsibilities for individual pupils
Contribute to the preparation and organisation of teaching resources
Support positive behaviour plans and teaching strategies
Assist with personal care where required, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene support
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider school staff
Contribute to home-school communication and pupil progress reporting
