Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and ambitious Workshop Technician to join our team in Exeter. Exeter Mobility Centre is a leading Orthotic and Prosthetic service, delivering expert care and innovative solutions to improve mobility and independence. Our integrated team of clinicians, administrators, and skilled technicians work together to provide a seamless patient experience. With on-site manufacturing and a dedicated workshop of 9 technicians, we design and produce bespoke prosthetic and orthotic devices tailored to individual needs ensuring quality and precision.

Job Responsibility

  • Manufacture high-quality jobs tailored to individual patient needs
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment in line with health and safety standards
  • Manage stock and materials effectively, including accurate booking out and monitoring usage
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians and technical colleagues to ensure successful patient outcomes
  • Ensure quality control and timely delivery of all manufactured devices to meet service standards

Requirements

  • Effective working within a team
  • Capable of meeting the physical requirements of the job
  • Excellent practical skills and experience of using tools and workshop equipment
  • Good organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn new processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible and helpful attitude
  • No formal qualifications are required for this post, but a good standard level of education, alongside demonstrated transferable skills

  • Good understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH
  • Good understanding of stock and material handling
  • Previous technical and workshop experience
  • A sound working knowledge of IT systems: including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Technical Qualification or Experience
