Job Responsibility:
Observe and assist experienced teachers in delivering lessons and activities
Gain practical experience in planning and delivering lessons, focusing on communication skills and life skills
Support pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
Support with personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)
Monitor pupil progress, observing how different teaching approaches impact learning
Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time
Requirements:
Recent degree in Psychology or a related field
A passion for working with children with autism and a desire to make a difference in their lives
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A willingness to learn and grow as a teacher
Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations
