This School is a day school rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the teaching support team as Trainee Teachers. Job Responsibility:

  • Observe and assist experienced teachers in delivering lessons and activities
  • Gain practical experience in planning and delivering lessons, focusing on communication skills and life skills
  • Support pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
  • Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
  • Support with personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)
  • Monitor pupil progress, observing how different teaching approaches impact learning
  • Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time

Requirements:

  • Recent degree in Psychology or a related field
  • A passion for working with children with autism and a desire to make a difference in their lives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and grow as a teacher
  • Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations
