Job Description

A specialist independent day school near Cranleigh, Surrey, is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join as Trainee Teachers. The school supports children aged 4-19 with autism and related communication difficulties, offering personalised learning in a well-resourced, nurturing setting.

Job Responsibility

  • Work with pupils individually and in small groups to support their academic, social, and emotional development
  • follow structured, evidence-based teaching methods including Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
  • collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including speech and language therapists and occupational therapists
  • receive comprehensive training and support to gain qualifications relevant to teaching and special educational needs (SEN)

Requirements

  • Minimum of Grade C/4 in English Language and Maths at GCSE (or equivalent)
  • genuine interest in education and working with children and young people with special needs
  • excellent communication, patience, and a positive attitude
  • previous experience working with children (in any capacity) is desirable but not essential
