Here at Langdons, we have an amazing opportunity for a Trainee Tachograph & Compliance Officer to join the team based in Bridgwater. You will be working on a permanent full-time basis, working Monday to Friday 8:00 to 16:00 and in return, you will receive a salary of £25,000.00 per annum.
Job Responsibility:
Support the daily monitoring of driver activities and assist colleagues in ensuring compliance with legislative and Operator Licence requirements, including drivers’ hours and tachograph record management
Help to review key performance indicators and support the identification of actions required by drivers and transport staff to maintain effective management of drivers’ hours and address infringements
Assist in checking that drivers hold the correct licences and qualifications, and help carry out regular checks on driving licences, CPC (DQC) qualifications, and Digital Tachograph cards
Assist with the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of company compliance systems and processes, ensuring they remain aligned with current legislation
Support colleagues in delivering training by helping with materials, systems demonstrations, and learning all aspects of drivers’ hours legislation and tachograph compliance
Attend relevant meetings, training sessions, and development events to build knowledge, skills, and professional standards within the compliance function
Promote company values and code of conduct in all that you do and to others you come into contact with
Adhere to company rules, policies, procedures consistently and encourage others to do the same
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation impacting on your role where required
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and ensure that confidentiality is applied where appropriate
Be flexible as required in accordance with the needs of the business
Requirements:
Experience of working in a team-based office environment, ideally within a customer facing or service focused role
Confident using Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to compile, analyse, and interpret data as required
A developing understanding of driving related legislation and associated guidance, with a willingness to learn and build knowledge in this area
Ability to use initiative and organise work effectively to ensure key tasks are completed accurately and on time
Comfortable working towards changing targets and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with colleagues at all levels
High attention to detail, with the confidence to identify and appropriately challenge discrepancies in a timely manner
Ability to act with sensitivity and professionalism, influencing others positively when supporting compliance processes
