Job Description

Calling locals looking to get a start with Aurizon and kickstart their Rail Career! This is a unique opportunity to be trained in-house and become a fully qualified Systems Maintainer. At Aurizon, we understand our environment is unique and obtaining the qualifications for our jobs is best gained by getting that experience firsthand, from skilled Aurizon staff and on the job training. In this 18-month trainee role, you will develop technical and safety skills within our Network Signalling teams that will see you build a solid foundation and obtain Nationally recognised qualifications as you are mentored by leaders in the field and supported by our Training department. These are permanent roles, working an 8 on, 6 off roster. Transition to a qualified Systems Maintainer role is dependent on successful completion of the course work, practical application and business requirements. Salary for this role is $69K + Super, with the opportunity to substantially increase your earnings as you become a fully qualified Systems Maintainer! These are residential positions. FIFO/ DIDO will not be considered due to our fatigue management policies

Requirements

  • Fantastic attitude and a strong commitment to safety
  • Ability to travel is a must
  • Previous experience in the rail industry is a definite advantage
  • Must want to work in the outdoors in all weather
  • Able to work as part of a small team
  • Must complete testing, a medical, reference checks and hold a C-Class QLD Manual drivers’ licence or minimum P2 (preferred)
