Job Description:

Northpower is looking for enthusiastic Trainee Line Mechanic’s to join our Lines Construction and Maintenance team. This is a great opportunity to develop a hands-on trade, gain recognised qualifications, and grow your career in a supportive environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the team with the construction and maintenance of overhead electricity lines
  • learn to operate electrical equipment up to 33kV
  • assist with the installation and replacement of pole structures, conductors and hardware
  • complete block courses
  • gain hands-on experience in the field
  • help ensure all documentation, inspections and reporting are completed accurately
  • work safely
  • communicate effectively
  • contribute to a positive, productive team environment

Requirements:

  • NZ Driver Licence (with an HT licence being an advantage)
