Job Description:

Aurizon Bulk has a new and exciting entry level opportunity at our Mackay depot as a Trainee Freight Operator. Aurizon are committed to growing business in Regional Queensland and will be looking to utilise local talent to fill these opportunities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Undertake the theoretical and practical components of the training program
  • Ensure that the loading and unloading of customer's products are carried out efficiently and safely
  • Operate heavy lift machinery
  • Inspect rollingstock for faults
  • Rectify minor faults on rollingstock
  • Conduct brake testing of trains
  • Effectively communicate with other depot personnel face to face and via two-way radio
  • Undertake shunting and marshalling of trains

Requirements:

  • C Class Drivers Licence (mandatory)
  • High Risk Forklift Licence (desired)
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • A willingness to work day & night shift (up to 12hr shifts) and including weekend work as required

  • Implement and monitor 100% accurate re-labeling of incoming materials as per regulatory and customer requirements
  • Manage bin location assignment and ensure correct physical placement through WMS

  • Submit verified GRN documentation to Finance for timely invoice processing and resolve invoice mismatches
