Job Description:

Trainee Employment Solicitor role to advise and represent a diverse range of clients throughout the UK on employment law issues, from straightforward queries to complex, high-value matters. The role involves a high degree of autonomy and client contact, with potential opportunity to represent clients at employment tribunal hearings.

Job Responsibility:

  • Draft contracts, handbooks, letters and documents for clients using templates
  • Assist colleagues in the preparation of ET cases
  • Assist colleagues by researching legal points
  • Provide basic telephone and email advice direct to clients on basic employment law queries, subject to supervision
  • Ensure all advice to clients is timely, efficient, accurate, practical, and commercial
  • Adhere to WorkNest’s requirements and relevant professional standards
  • Undertake all training to ensure learning and development needs are met
  • Support the team as directed to provide high quality advice and legally compliant documentation

Requirements:

  • 2:1 LLB Honours degree (or equivalent)
  • Successfully completed the Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
  • Some legal work experience (employment law experience desirable)
  • Ability to absorb information and keep up to date with legal developments
  • Ability to impart information to clients in a clear and concise manner avoiding legal jargon
  • Focused on quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving qualities
  • Well-developed relationship management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit team
  • Excellent work planning, organising and management skills
