As a Trainee Cable Jointer, you will support the team with the installation, replacement, and repair of underground electricity distribution assets. You’ll be hands-on in the field while receiving ongoing training, mentoring, and development to help you grow into a qualified Cable Jointer.
Job Responsibility
Assist with the installation, replacement, and repair of underground distribution cables
Excavate and reinstate underground cable installation sites
Participate in, complete, and pass block courses and associated unit standards within required timeframes
Support the team with accurate and timely completion of field paperwork, reports, and asset documentation
Help the team meet customer, company, and regulatory performance standards
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders
Maintain a professional image and deliver positive customer experiences
Look for opportunities to improve work practices, safety, and personal development
Take care of company equipment, tools, and PPE
Follow all health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements at all times
Perform other reasonable duties as required
Work safely at all times and stop any unsafe work

Requirements
Class 1 NZ Driver Licence
Physically fit and able to perform outdoor, manual work
A strong commitment to safety
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Excellent attitude and willingness to learn

Previous exposure to construction, utilities, or trades environments
