Job Description

Brighton Resort is looking for hardworking, outdoorsy people to join our Trail Crew team! Trail Crew members play a direct role in preparing the mountain for winter, doing the hands-on work that makes the ski season possible for every guest at Brighton. Trail Crew is a temporary, paid volunteer position. Members earn hourly pay, but the primary benefit is a 2026-27 Brighton season pass. It is not a full-time or ongoing job. The commitment is 10 full days (10 hours per day) over the summer season, with shifts typically starting in early July.

Job Responsibility

  • Maintain ski terrain and resort grounds through brush cutting, raking, digging, slope stabilization, and debris removal
  • Use hand tools and chainsaws safely and responsibly
  • Work efficiently across steep and uneven terrain at elevation
  • Keep trucks, tools, and shared work areas clean and organized
  • Assist with other Mountain Operations projects as assigned
  • Contribute to erosion control and terrain prep work

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Background in landscaping, wildland firefighting, trail maintenance, or similar outdoor labor
  • Physically fit and able to carry, push, & pull 50 lbs
  • Confident hiking long distances over rugged terrain
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Can work independently and as part of a small team with limited supervision
  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Can reliably get to and from Brighton Resort in various weather conditions

Nice to have

  • Experience operating a chainsaw
  • Prior experience working at elevation or in remote outdoor environments
