Job Description:

Are you an experienced and safety-conscious traffic marshall looking for a stable, long-term contract? We are currently recruiting for a professional to manage site logistics on a major commercial development in Appleby-in-Westmorland.

Job Responsibility:

  • Gate Management: Controlling all vehicle access and egress, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the site
  • Vehicle Banking: Safely directing HGVs, concrete wagons, and plant machinery using standard hand signals or radio communication
  • Pedestrian Safety: Ensuring strict segregation between heavy vehicle movements and pedestrian walkways to protect site staff and the public
  • Logistics Coordination: Liaising with the Site Manager to manage delivery schedules and prevent congestion on local roads
  • Site Documentation: Ensuring all drivers are briefed on site safety and that delivery logs are maintained accurately

Requirements:

  • A valid Traffic Marshall / Vehicle Banksman ticket is mandatory
  • A valid CSCS card is essential for site entry
  • Proven experience working on a busy commercial construction site
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to be assertive yet professional
  • High levels of punctuality and a commitment to a long-term role
  • Must have your own full Personal Protective Equipment (Hard hat, hi-vis, steel toe boots)
