As a Traffic Engineering Designer, you will work on portions of complex transportation projects and provide technical support in traffic operations, traffic control, and safety-related design. You will apply sound engineering judgment and collaborate closely with project engineers and managers to deliver accurate, efficient, and constructible traffic design solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver traffic engineering design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects
Develop and design traffic control systems including traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and work zone traffic control
Perform traffic engineering calculations and analyses, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, agency criteria, and client requirements
Coordinate traffic design activities with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance to junior staff
Assist project engineers and managers with quality control reviews, schedule tracking, and the coordination of traffic-related design deliverables
Support intersection, corridor, and multimodal traffic studies as they relate to design implementation
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation design
2-4+ years of directly related experience
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation &/or Civil 3D
