Job Description:

The Traffic Control Supervisor is responsible for organizing, directing, and controlling traffic control work plans and activities within the Golden contract area. Working in coordination with our prime contractor, Emcon Services Inc., this role provides leadership and oversight to certified Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) and ensures traffic control operations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Organize, direct, recruit and supervise traffic control crews
  • Develop and coordinate traffic control work plans
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot operational issues
  • Coordinate simultaneous work schedules and deployment plans
  • Oversee crew scheduling and workflow management
  • Train and support staff in accurate and timely time reporting
  • Authorize hiring in accordance with established personnel procedures
  • Develop solutions to workflow delays within the traffic control division
  • Coordinate service delivery schedules with internal departments and external customers
  • Monitor materials and equipment flow to ensure timely project completion
  • Maintain and oversee traffic control equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Supervisory experience in traffic control, construction, or related field preferred
  • Strong scheduling and coordination experience
  • Hold a valid traffic control ticket
  • Knowledge of traffic control standards and safety regulations
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license (required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Inspectors make site observations to document that construction is performed according to detailed contract requirements, including plans, and contract and specification conformance
  • Duties include inspecting work being performed by the contractor for compliance with plans and specifications, inspecting for quality workmanship, preparing field diary which includes all daily activities each day along with other project information, measuring quantities of work, and documenting items of work performed in field books (which may be computer based), including measured quantities, location, date, etc
  • Inspectors inspect for quality, based on visual inspection, sampling, and testing of materials
  • Inspectors may be required to take photographs, file reports, and perform field sampling, and measure and document quantities of work-performed daily
  • Inspectors shall record findings in field logs book or computer. Use of Site Manager and other LaDOTD formats are required
  • Inspection of highway work may be required at times, including serving as the principle inspector on the project
  • In addition to inspection duties, some review of the construction layout will be required
  • Duties could require nighttime inspection and out of town travel and extended stays for projects in Louisiana
  • Duties could/will include climbing of ladders, stairs and working at heights
  • Employees are expected to participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals and to assist in any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule
