Job Description

Service Stream’s are currently seeking a Traffic Control Room Operator to join the team delivering exciting projects within our Transportation department under the Westlink Services project. This will be a 12-month Fixed Contract role, with a roster consisting of two day shifts, two night shifts consecutively followed by 5 days off.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform duties of the Traffic Control Room Operator in the 24-hour 7-day week operation of the control room
  • Monitor the asset and identify any unplanned and planned incidents, including congestion and planned works
  • Initiate incident and emergency response processes in accordance with policies, plans and procedures
  • Report and log all incidents, events, and equipment failures
  • Actively monitor and respond to alarms associated with ITS systems
  • Proactively manage all relevant KPI’s for M7 Control Room
  • Provide support on other activities where applicable

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • High-level problem-solving skill, including the ability to proactively develop innovative solutions to those problems.
  • The ability to work on a 24/7 rotating shift basis
  • The ability to work as an individual and in a team
  • Good computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license

  • Highly Visible Security Presence: Maintain a highly visible, proactive security presence on and around the site, focusing strongly on effective access and egress controls
  • Security Control and Monitoring: Actively support the site's security operation, including collaboration with the Security Control Room (SCR) and Security Services Centre (SSC). Duties involve assisting with the review, recording, escalation, and reporting of incidents, as well as fault detection
  • Physical Security Checks: Perform detailed physical security checks, including investigating unusual conditions, documenting damage to perimeter and buildings, and confirming the secure lock-down of all facilities
  • Emergency & Incident Command: Act as a primary first responder for all pre-planned or significant security events. Immediately take command of the scene (or situation) during emergencies, ensuring effective liaison with the Security Control Room (SSC), GSOC, and external emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance)
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain continuous, clear, and professional communication with all security partners and occupier service teams, ensuring they are consistently updated on critical operational developments
