Traffic Control plays a crucial role in ensuring that traffic is safely managed around construction sites. Their primary responsibility is to control and direct traffic flow while construction activities are underway, minimizing risks and disruptions to the public and workers.
Job Responsibility:
Updating job database (TCR)
Production analysis and reporting (financial statements)
Oversees daily schedule of deliveries and ensures customers expectations are met
Negotiations for job changes (revenue, placement techniques)
Ensure company policies are known and followed
Conduct site visits
Device Management and inventory
Billing, invoicing and tracking of all jobs
Manage customer relations and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction
Training and documentation for safety and quality
Resolve customer complaints and ensure their needs are met
Hold safety meetings with crews
Keep track of equipment/devices and schedules for preventative maintenance
Track profit and loss, costs, and billings on each work crew
Assess damage and recommend options for repairs
Maintain equipment for crews
Review daily work completions with drivers
Builds and maintains good relationships with employees, customers, etc
Conduct performance evaluations of all subordinates on a regular basis and recommend raises and promotions
Manage employees to ensure they have adequate work
Train, encourage, praise, motivate, counsel and discipline employees
Schedule vacations and times off for employees making sure all scheduled jobs are covered
Assure accuracy of employee time cards
Assure the safety of employees, company property, customers, and public
Resolve employee problems and complaints
Assists in all SCI/Congruex markets as needed with Estimating
Develop relationships with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best pricing possible
Work with Sales team to increase revenue
Research and educate self on new technology and methods
Draw TCPs or have someone in place that can draw them
Obtain necessary certifications as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Leadership and Management Skills to oversee and coordinate traffic control teams
Traffic Control Certification (e.g., ATSSA or equivalent)
Extensive Knowledge of Traffic Laws, Safety Regulations, and Industry Standards
Project Management Experience for planning and executing traffic control plans
Strong Communication Skills for liaising with construction teams, clients, and local authorities
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Abilities in dynamic environments
Experience with Traffic Control Equipment and Technology
Ability to Train and Mentor Team Members on safety and procedures
High School diploma or GED equivalent required
OSHA 30
Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to various sites
Must be able and willing to work outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions
Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
Must be able to work around heavy equipment and machinery
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting
Must be able to stand, walk, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time
Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hard hat, and any applicable safety gear
