Our client is a growing firm in the telecommunications industry and has an immediate need for a Traffic Control Drafter. The Traffic Control Plan Drafter (TCP) will be responsible for creating Traffic Control Plans and Maps in support of fiber network builds for City, County and State Highways. This will require candidates be knowledgeable in city, county, state and local municipalities encroachment permits, Traffic Control, and specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans, Forest Service, BLM), easement, right of way and various environmental permits. The position will require candidates have detailed understanding of easements and right of ways as well as basic knowledge of traffic engineering principals as it pertains to temporary traffic control. In this role candidates will be asked to design various lane and road closures on city streets and freeways and have the ability to work with governing jurisdictional office to locate Right Of Way (ROW) lines if needed.
Job Responsibility
Utilize the latest version of AutoCAD to prepare Traffic Control Plans using all available research and adhering to jurisdiction requirements
Provide exemplary project communication and adhere to project/jurisdiction requirements
Respond to customer inquiries regarding design, placement, and details of system
Establish a robust quality control/assurance process
Coordinate with drafting designers to design temporary traffic control setups
Draft all field-engineering notes to base map or survey map those that are pertinent to design

2 plus years of Traffic Control Plan Drafting experience for telecom or utility work
